ART & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE

Taking into account the design of the Church and the principles and recommendations for environmental settings conducive to enhanced liturgical services, parishioners with creative suggestions are needed to be a part of a committee for this purpose. If you are interested, please contact Kathryn Richards.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS TO THE SICK

Eucharist Ministers to the Sick are to “bring Christ” to parishioners who are at homes, in convalescence facilities, or in hospitals and are unable to attend Sunday Mass. If you are interested, please contact Elaine Malouf at 310-472-8735.

CHIDREN LITURGY OF THE WORD CATECHIST

St. Martin of Tours is looking for catechists who are knowledgeable in the Catholic faith, Tradition, and Scripture to do the Liturgy of the Word based on Sunday Lectionary for children from age 6 to 10. If you are interested in working with children and leading them to grow spiritually, please contact Jennifer Jenkins.

YOUTH MINISTRY CORE TEAM

Our CORE team of adult volunteers assists the youth ministers in building an environment where teens can come and grow spiritually, socially and emotionally.  CORE team works with the youth ministers in planning events, and in fostering positive relationships with teens.   Please contact either Ruth Catelli or Michelle Fanara or 310-476-7403 #248.

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY

We are looking for Hospitality Greeters to extend a genuine and warm welcome to all who attend or visit our communal worship at all the weekend liturgies.  A “Welcome Table” is located outside the church door after each liturgy so that anyone who wishes can register or learn more about St. Martin of Tours Parish. If you are interested in being a part of this important ministry, please contact Suzanne Trepany.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

Jesus did the miracle to feed the crowd of 5000, but he was not the one who served the food to people.  It was the Apostles who were the Hand of Jesus. We are to continue that tradition to lend Jesus a hand in feeding the people by being Eucharistic Ministers. Please contact Joan Hoppock.

LECTORS

Second Vatican Council proclaimed that God’s voice is heard through the proclamation of the Scripture! God needs our voices to be heard by others. We need more lectors especially at early masses. Please contact Joan Hoppock.

USHERS

The Ministry of Ushering is the oldest lay ministry in the Catholic Church. At St Martin of Tours Parish their primary duty and responsibility at all our Masses is directing the Communion procession. Additional Ushers are always required to help with seating for our very large Christmas and Easter Masses, large funerals and other special Church events during the year.

Offering special assistance to the elderly and those with special needs, handling any emergency situations and always ready to help our Priests when help is needed on a moment’s notice. At some masses, taking up the collection is also required. Please contact Don Keegan.
