Parish Council

The Parish Council is comprised of 12 parishioners selected by our Administrator, Father Ben Le, with input from current or past members. The Parish Council's duties are defined by By-Laws and Guidelines established by the Archdiocese and modified as per the particular application and interpretation of our community's needs.

The Parish Council functions as an Advisory Board only to our Pastor/Administrator. The duties of the Parish Council are to implement, review, study and plan for the Community of St. Martin of Tours for matters related to Development of Ministries, Service, Community, Grounds, and other matters that may be presented either by the community or our Pastor/Administrator.

Council Members

2010 - 2011 Council members are:

Mark Beccaria - Mark and his wife, Darlene, have been parishoners of St. Martin of Tours since 2003.  Mark has been a member of the Finance Council since 2008. Mark and Darlene usually attend the 9:00 a.m. Family Mass on Sundays with their son, Luca, and daugthers, Sienna and Tessa.

Judi Jacobs - Judi has been a parishioner of St. Martin of Tours since 1989. Her five children attended St. Martin of Tours school and graduated between 1996 - 2009. She serves as the Chairperson of the newly created St. Martin of Tours Elementary School Advisory Board and is responsibile for the school and church websites, as well as the school electronic newsletters. She usually attends Sunday 5:30 p.m. mass.

Judy Salz - Judy Salz has been a parishioner at St. Martin's since l986.  She has four grown children and eight grandchildren.  She is Co-chairman of the SMT Respect Life Committee and a member of the Columbiettes.  She and her husband, Jim, usually attend the 10:30 Mass on Sundays.

Joseph Schirripa (Chairperson) - Joseph has been parishioner of St. Martin of Tours for over 25 years.  His 3 sons graduated from St. Martin of Tours Elementary School years ago. He serves on the Committee for the Poor, The Engaged Church Committee, and heads the Together In Mission appeal.  The Schirripas usually attend the Saturday 5:30 p.m. mass.

Michelle Steffes - Michelle has been a member of the St. Martin of Tours parish community for seven years.  She has two children currently in the parish school (7th grade and kindergarten), and a third child in preschool.  Michelle has served on the Liturgy Committee for three years.  She is also a regular teacher of the Early Childhood Liturgy class (Sunday School) during the 9:00 a.m. mass.  In addition, with her husband, Kent, she is very active on the Engaged Church Committee and because of their passion for the New Evangelization, they often help to organize many “social” parish events.  The Steffes family regularly attends the 9:00 a.m. mass. If you find Michelle during the donuts and coffee hour - she would love to meet you! 

Mary Lou Tuthill

Christine M. Walker - Mary has been a member of St. Martin of Tours for 10 years, and also serves as Co-Chair for the Committee for the Poor with her husband Michael. In addition, Mary is a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at the 5:30 Mass on Saturdays. Mary also has a son at St. Martin of Tours Elementary school, where she has been actively involved for many years.
