Parish Council
The Parish Council is comprised of 12 parishioners selected by our Pastor, Father Ben Le, with input from current or past members. The Parish Council's duties are defined by By-Laws and Guidelines established by the Archdiocese and modified as per the particular application and interpretation of our community's needs.
The Parish Council functions as an Advisory Board only to our Pastor. The duties of the Parish Council are to implement, review, study and plan for the Community of St. Martin of Tours for matters related to Development of Ministries, Service, Community, Grounds, and other matters that may be presented either by the community or our Pastor.
2011 - 2012 Council Members (Strengthfinders Results below each member)
Mark Beccaria (markbeccaria@earthlink.net) - Mark and his wife, Darlene, have been parishoners of St. Martin of Tours since 2003. Mark has been a member of the Finance Council since 2008. Mark and Darlene usually attend the 9:00 a.m. Family Mass on Sundays with their son, Luca, and daugthers, Sienna and Tessa.
Achiever, Deliberative, Competitive, Responsibility, Focus John Hobson - (hobsonesq@gmail.com) - John and his wife, Lori, have been members of the parish since 2003. Their two children attend St. Martin of Tours School. John serves as a lector during the 9:00 a.m. mass.
Empathy, Intellection, Restorative, Connectedness, Developer Judi Jacobs (jjacobs@jjelaw.com) - Judi has been a parishioner of St. Martin of Tours since 1989. Her five children attended St. Martin of Tours school and graduated between 1996 - 2009. She serves as the head of technology at St. Martin of Tours Elementary School and is responsibile for the school and church websites, as well as the school electronic newsletters. Judi, and her husband Stan, were chairpersons for the annual fundraiser the Leprechaun Ball, among many other events during their tenure as parents at the school. She usually attends Sunday 5:30 p.m. mass.
Achiever, Responsibility, Learner, Command, Ideation Sandi Nutt (nuttsandi@gmail.com) - Sandi has been a parishioner of SMT since 1987. Sandi and her husband, John, have three children who are currently attending St. Martin of Tours school. Sandi is involved in the Social Justice / Respect Life and Engaged Church Committees, and also teaches Sunday School during the 9:00 a.m. Family Mass. Sandi is the chairperson for the Parish Christmas Benefit Committee, whose kick-off event will be held December, 2010, for the parish community. The Nutt Family usually attends the 9:00 a.m. family mass.
Empathy, Competition, WOO Communication, Deliberative Judy Salz (JudySalz@aol.com) - Judy Salz has been a parishioner at St. Martin's since l986. She has four grown children and eight grandchildren. She is Co-chairman of the SMT Respect Life Committee and a member of the Ladies of Columbus. She and her husband, Jim, usually attend the 10:30 Mass on Sundays.
Connectedness, Context, Individualization, Discipline, Developer Joseph Schirripa (Chairperson) (Schirripa@Prodigy.net) - Joseph has been parishioner of St. Martin of Tours for over 25 years. His 3 sons graduated from St. Martin of Tours Elementary School years ago. He serves on the Committee for the Poor, The Engaged Church Committee, and heads the Together In Mission appeal. The Schirripas usually attend the Saturday 5:30 p.m. mass.
Strategic, Learner, Achiever, Self Assurance, CommandKelly Schmidt (Kelly.Schmidt@NFL.com) - Kelly has been a member of the St. Martin of Tours parish since 2006. Kelly is currently involved in Youth Ministry, where she assists with Confirmation classes. She is also a regular teacher of the Early Childhood Liturgy class (Sunday School) during the 9:00 a.m. mass. She regularly attends the 9:00 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. Sunday masses.
Harmony, Responsibility, Activator, Consistency, Significance Michelle Steffes (shelsea97@aol.com) - Michelle has been a member of the St. Martin of Tours parish community for seven years. She has two children currently in the parish school (7th grade and kindergarten), and a third child in preschool. Michelle has served on the Liturgy Committee for three years. She is also a regular teacher of the Early Childhood Liturgy class (Sunday School) during the 9:00 a.m. mass. In addition, with her husband, Kent, she is very active on the Engaged Church Committee and because of their passion for the New Evangelization, they often help to organize many “social” parish events. The Steffes family regularly attends the 9:00 a.m. mass. If you find Michelle during the donuts and coffee hour - she would love to meet you!
Strategic, Discipline, Learner, Activator, Maximizer Laura Steuch (l.steuch@verizon.net) - has been a parishioner of Saint Martin of Tours since 2008. Laura and her husband, Mike, have a son and daughter currently attending Saint Martin of Tours School. Laura serves as the Children's Choir Liaison for the school and parish. The Steuch family usually attends the Sunday 9am Family Mass

Juan Carlos Terroba Dodero (jctd01@gmail.com) - Juan was originally born in Mexico, and moved to the United States as a part of his family business. He is fluent in Spanish, English and French. He is married, and has three children. Jaun is also involved in the Charismatic Renewal Prayer Group.
Intellection, Learner, Activator Strategic, Input Mary Lu Tuthill (Tuthills@aol.com) - Mary Lu and her husband, Gordon, have been members of St. Martin of Tours for 38 years. Both of their children attended St. Martins of Tours and now their grandson is also joining the school family!. Mary Lu was the Mother's Club President and Gordon actually started the Father's Club. The Tuthills served on Leprechaun Ball Committees for many years and were also Chairpersons. Mary Lu and Gordon regularly attend 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, where I am often a Lector and my husband is an usher.
Katie Woods (ozekate@hotmail.com) - Katie and her husband, Dan, have been parishioners at St. Martin of Tours for over 20 years. Their three daughters all graduated from St. Martin of Tours Elementary School. She has volunteered and chaired many committees at the school, including twice co-chairing the Leprechaun Ball with Dan. She has served on the Hospitality Committee and has been a member of the Committee for the Poor for several years. She is responsible for organizing the Annual Christmas Toy Drive, benefiting over 13 organizations in the Los Angeles area. She usually attends the 9am Mass on Sunday.
