Community

As we go through the pages of the Bible, one striking element in the way God created our world is that God created not one person but a people. God did not create one man and one woman in Adam and Eve. In fact, “Adam” means “men” and “Eve” means “women.” Going further we see God called not a single person like Abram, which means “the exalted father” but “Abraham” which is “the father of the multitude.” Thus, this is where Israel began.

Turning to the New Testament, Biblical scholars agree that the single focus of the preaching of Jesus is about the Kingdom of God. Obviously, the kingdom cannot be one person but a people. That is why the Church is not a building or Pope or bishops or priests but a people. This is the intention of God for us, human beings, to be a community.

Community is not an attachment to a place. It is not a club that binds together by a policy. It is not a party that has the same ideology. Rather, it is a environment in which a person can encounter God.

So, it doesn’t matter whoever you are, what you are, or where you are on the faith journey, we welcome you to be this community to support each other in growing in faith.
